The farm mystery

I can't believe we have lived here a full year! It has been a fun adventure. We hosted Fischer's baptism celebration, and first birthday. Aunt Katy has lived with us, and currently a friends son is staying in the cottage.

This year has been a learning experience too. Our second garden is beginning to produce lettuce. We have peas, broccoli, carrots, and squash in the ground. We had beans but someones horses got loose while Larry was at work and I was out of town. (This is the second time horses have wandered to our place.) We think the baby horse accidentally walked on the pool cover because it has three huge holes. Luckily, nothing was found in the pool after we pulled the cover off. Since, there was damage Larry, Fischer and I loaded up in the gator to follow the tracks and poop. We went down the path by the pool and to the field where there were hoof marks everywhere! We tried to discover which way the horses came. We drove up a path by the barn only to hear a tapping noise and to find a donkey inside. No we don't own a donkey. So then we thought it could have been what walked on the cover. This donkey's hooves are smaller than horses. We went through the gate and up the neighbors driveway to now find out if their donkey was locked in our barn. we also hoped they would know who owns a baby horse. They weren't home. As we were leaving, their daughter drove up and told us her brother put the donkey in our barn and she would lead him home. They also said their donkey was at home all day when the cover was broken. So after much investigation the pool cover damage remains unsolved. I will not become Nancy Drew anytime soon. Plus, we might need a fence not to keep Fischer safe, because he is a swimmer, but to keep animals out!
